Prolonged cooling followed after early warming in April. Rains were rare.

Breeding conditions:

Lemmings were not recorded, but voles were numerous. Two pairs of Rough-legged Buzzards nested in the study area, and Northern Goshawk bred near seabird colonies. Numbers of breeding Golden and Ringed plovers, Dunlins and Redshanks increased in tundra. Autumn migration had average intensity, with number of Greenshanks higher than usual.
